When mental health crisis hit San Antonio, H.E. Butt Foundation faced a difficult task: coordinate diverse faith organizations under one mission-driven identity without losing each community's unique DNA. With no unified brand system, their life-saving Congregational Collective initiative risked failure before it launched.
Without visual cohesion, participating organizations couldn't effectively communicate the program to their communities. Mental health resources in San Antonio would remain fragmented and under-resourced. Faith communities would continue operating in isolation, missing the opportunity to coordinate care for families in crisis.

Our journey began with a deep dive into understanding the client and their vision, building on extensive research they had conducted with community partners and faith leaders. We gathered essential insights through consultations with Foundation leadership, who brought valuable perspectives from their stakeholder engagement process. This approach ensured our visual direction would resonate across the diverse ecosystem they serve. Then, we started to explore two stylescapes, setting the stage for creative inspiration that could work across various touchpoints and community contexts.

The labyrinth became our unifying element because it represented what what everyone believed and all the data was pointing out: mental health healing is a journey, not a destination. This ancient symbol of contemplative walking resonated across denominational lines while providing a scalable visual system that can work from app icons to building signage.

With the color palette, we aimed to balance cool and warm tones and earth colors with contrasting accents. This pallet of colors communicates a warm, inclusive brand with authority (expert), hope, and collaboration.
